No fine print
What every base price includes
A starting price should describe a finished memorial, not a bare stone. Every base price on this page covers all five of these:
One name
A single name, sandblast-engraved deep into the granite so it stays crisp for generations.
Dates
Birth and passing dates, set in the lettering style you choose from our proofs.
A verse
An epitaph, scripture, or a few words of your own — we help families find the right ones.
A catalog design
Any design from our collection catalog: florals, crosses, mountains, wildlife, and more.
Sierra White granite
Our standard granite — a clean, light stone that takes engraving beautifully.
Looking for the right words or the right stone? See our epitaph ideas and granite color guide.

Personalization
What adds to the cost
These options make a memorial more personal — and each one is quoted line by line during your design consultation, so you decide with real numbers in front of you.
Ceramic & porcelain photos
A photograph fired onto ceramic or porcelain and attached to the stone, covered by a lifetime warranty. We can merge two photos into one or remove and replace backgrounds.
Laser etching
Fine, photographic-style detail worked into polished granite — portraits, landscapes, and full scenes.
Premium granite colors
We source granite from quarries around the world — deep blacks, grays, and earth tones beyond our standard Sierra White.
Granite vases
A matching granite vase for flowers, sized and finished to suit your memorial.
Engraving both sides
Slants and upright monuments can carry lettering and artwork on the back as well as the front — room for family names or a longer verse.
Custom artwork & shapes
Hand-drawn artwork, your own designs, or a fully custom silhouette. If you can picture it, we can carve it.
We never guess at these numbers in print — sizes, granite, and artwork interact, so we price each option exactly for your design. You’ll see every line on your quote before anything is produced, as part of our five-step design process.
Why we publish our prices
“A grieving family should never have to negotiate. The price you see here is the price the conversation starts from.”
Most monument shops make you call, visit, or sit through a pitch before they’ll name a number. We’ve published ours because we believe families plan better at their own kitchen table than in a showroom — and because after 47 years of family ownership, we’re comfortable letting our prices and our work speak plainly. That’s true whether you’re here in Reno or ordering from anywhere in the country.
The other side of the ledger
Costs your cemetery controls
A few charges belong to the cemetery, not the monument maker. We can't set them — but we'll help you find out what they are before you commit to anything.
Setting & foundation fees
Most cemeteries prepare the ground and pour a cement foundation before your memorial arrives, and many charge a setting or foundation fee for that work. Some require their own crews to install — in that case we deliver the finished memorial to them.
Perpetual & endowment care
Many cemeteries collect an endowment- or perpetual-care contribution toward long-term grounds upkeep when a new memorial is placed. The amount is set by the cemetery, not by us.
Sales tax
Sales tax is calculated at the time of purchase and is not included in the base prices above. We itemize it on your quote so there are no surprises.
Checking your cemetery’s requirements is step one of our design process — we’re glad to make that call with you. Our guide to cemetery regulations explains what to ask.
Pricing questions
What families ask about cost
How much does a headstone cost?
Our base prices: single flat (flush) markers start at $1,100, bevel markers at $1,325, slants at $1,850 ($2,850 with a granite base), upright monuments at $3,650, and memorial benches at $3,600. Base prices include a single name, dates, a verse, a design from our catalog, and standard Sierra White granite. Photos, laser etching, premium granite colors, vases, and double-sided engraving add to the cost. Prices do not include sales tax or cemetery setting fees.
What does the starting price include?
Every base price includes a single name, birth and passing dates, a verse, a design from our catalog, and standard Sierra White granite. Starting prices are for a single memorial — companion and side-by-side sizes are quoted based on their dimensions and design.
Does the price include installation and cemetery fees?
Our prices exclude sales tax and the setting and endowment-care fees your cemetery charges. We install the memorials we fabricate throughout Nevada and Northern California; some cemeteries require their own installers, in which case we deliver the finished memorial to them. We'll help you find out exactly what your cemetery charges before you commit.
Why do you publish prices when most monument shops don't?
Because families make better decisions with real numbers. Publishing our prices lets you plan calmly at home instead of negotiating in a showroom, and it holds our work to a standard: the price you see is the price the conversation starts from.
