Bevel Grave Markers
Raised above the ground with a gentle slope, bevel markers are easier to see from a distance than flush markers. Polished top, rock-pitched sides.
About this style
A bevel marker rests above the lawn with its polished face on a gentle slope, rising from front to back. That small lift makes a real difference: where a flush marker can disappear into the grass from a distance, a bevel catches the light, and the angle tips the lettering toward you as you approach. It is a modest step up from a flat marker in both presence and price — a single bevel starts at $1,325 — without the height of a slant or an upright monument.
Ours are six inches thick with a polished top and rock-pitched sides, meaning the edges are hand-broken to a natural, quarried texture. The result looks like a piece of stone rather than a machined slab, and it frames the polished face where the name, dates, verse, and artwork are sandblast-engraved. Sierra White granite is our standard, and because we source from quarries around the world, you can also choose from a full range of blacks, grays, and earth tones.
The starting price includes one name, dates, a verse, a catalog design, and Sierra White granite. As with every raised memorial, confirm what your cemetery section allows before you fall in love with a style — checking those requirements is the first of the five steps we walk through with every family.

Sizes
Standard bevel markers sizes
Cemeteries often dictate exact dimensions for each section, so confirm your cemetery's rules before settling on a size — we help with that in step one.
| Configuration | Dimensions |
|---|---|
| Single grave, one name | 24" × 12" × 6" |
| Single grave, two names | 30" × 12" × 6" |
| Side by side, two names | 36" × 12" × 6" (up to 48" depending on artwork) |
| Infant marker | 16" × 8" × 6" |

Who chooses this style
A good fit when…
- Families who want more presence than a flush marker without the cost of a slant or upright
- Cemetery sections that permit raised markers but not tall monuments
- Couples who want one stone over side-by-side graves — bevels run up to 48 inches wide
- Anyone who prefers the natural, rock-pitched look of hand-broken stone edges
Personalization
Making it theirs
The sloped face of a bevel works just like a flat marker's canvas, so everything we do on our larger memorials is available here: catalog designs are included in the base price, custom artwork is drawn for your approval, and a ceramic or porcelain memorial photo — guaranteed for life — can be set into the stone. We can merge photos and remove or replace backgrounds so the portrait is right. Painted surfaces carry a 10-year warranty, and nothing goes into production until you approve the final proof.

Families often ask us
What is the difference between a bevel marker and a flat marker?
A flat marker is 4" thick and sits flush with the ground; a bevel is 6" thick, rests above the lawn, and its polished top slopes gently from front to back, which makes it easier to see from a distance. A flat marker has sawcut sides, while a bevel has natural, rock-pitched sides. Flat markers start at $1,100 and bevels at $1,325.
What does the $1,325 starting price include?
One name, dates, a verse, a design from our catalog, and standard Sierra White granite on a single 24" × 12" × 6" bevel marker. Sales tax and cemetery setting or endowment fees are extra, and we quote any additions — a second name, a photo, an upgraded granite — before you approve the design.
Can we put two names on a bevel marker?
Yes. A single-grave bevel with two names runs 30" × 12", and a side-by-side bevel over two graves runs 36" × 12" — up to 48" wide depending on the artwork. You will see the full layout in a proof before anything is engraved.
How long will a bevel marker take?
Stock granite typically takes 6 to 10 weeks after final proof approval; fully custom work takes 3 to 6 months. Plan on 1 to 6 months overall for production and delivery. Your cemetery usually prepares the ground or cement before the marker arrives.
